Get Creative with the Wide Style Selection of Plugs

Plugs are not the ear plugs you use to fight off noise from reaching your eardrums. They are actually pieces of jewelry that you stick in your earring holes to stretch them out to make the holes larger. This is often called ear lobe gauging. The purpose of plugs is solely to exude a fashion style that is becoming more and more popular in the Western world.

Body jewelry has been common for thousands of years among other people, especially in African nations. Plugs have become less of a primitive style and more of a statement for those who want to evoke a "punk" sense of style. Plugs have become very popular in the underground music scene and can often be found in musicians' ears on stage.

There are many different types of plugs you can use to gauge your ear lobes. You must start off with small ones, and as those stretch and grow comfortable in your ears, move on to the next size. Plugs can be made of a variety of materials such as metal, wood, plastic, or rubber. The styles of plugs are endless. You can find plugs with stars or hearts on them, plugs made of every color of the rainbow, and plugs that form different shapes. You can find plugs with horn shapes that exude a buffalo look, spears that are pointy on one end, or twirly shapes that look like a spiral. These are called tapers because they have a sharp end and a blunt end.

You can find plugs that have flags on them, or plugs on which you can place a tiny photograph of you and your significant other. Some plugs even have insects inside them as an inlay.

Plugs are a great gift idea for people who are gauging their ear lobes. If you want to enlarge the holes in your ear lobes, use plugs. They can widen your holes to extreme sizes. However, you should know that getting your ear back to normal can be impossible once the holes get too large. Your ears will want to stay that way. If you want the plug look without actually widening your ear lobes, try earrings that look like plugs.
